Arthur Blackwood

I was commissioned by Papillon Publishing to illustrate the cover of the book "Arthur Blackwood's Scary Stories." It is a collection of horror and suspense stories aimed at children and young adults.

For this artwork, the publishers asked me to include some of the monstrous components and characters that appear in the book's short stories, so I worked hard on this digital painting with a reduced and dark color palette, trying to capture the atmosphere of the book, contrasting with the slightly caricatured aspect of the characters, taking into account the age of the target readers.
I completed it using brushes and textures that simulate traditional painting. I always try to give my digital work the greatest organic feel possible, so that it visually resembles a traditional painting.
